Husband and wife duo John and Anne were tired of facing difficulties of finding companies to accommodate small batch orders. Therefore because of this, they created their own; small-scale formulation and contract manufacturing company.
SHMH is a formula, a solution – a formulation and contract manufacturing company providing low MOQs. A solution to finding high-quality ingredients and materials to turn ideas into reality. Consequently, we are a formulation and small-scale contract manufacturing company designed to bridge the gap within the Indie Beauty industry.
The couple has taken their unique skills and strengths and developed a company that offers everything you need to create your own unique indie products and brand.
Our small batch scale skincare (min 5kg) purpose built manufacturing site is located in the UK. Everything we formulate and manufacture ourselves from our purpose built site in Hertfordshire.

Anne Onwusowulu – Cosmetic Chemist
Anne is the passion and brains behind SHMH, with over 10 years’ experience working as a cosmetic chemist. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the beauty industry and has created for successful independent brands. Also, she wants to offer her skills to help others. As a trained herbalist, perfumer, and aromatherapist, she is passionate about discovering and blending the finest ingredients. Consequently, Anne is leading pioneering changes within the beauty and home fragrance industry, by making it accessible to everyone.
John Onwusowulu
John is the business mogul behind SHMH. He has racked over 37 years experience as a successful entrepreneur. John has been able to transfer all his skills and knowledge as a Business Consultant and apply them to SHMH. Whereas, he previously served in a number of different sectors, including pharmaceutical, hospitality, manufacturing and food retail in a variety of roles. In fact, John has great insights and experience in management and operations and ensures SHMH runs smoothly and efficiently.
Chidera Hilarion Okoye – Formulation Chemist
Chidera is the scientific mind behind SHMH. He was able to transfer the skills he developed whilst studying for this PHD in Chemistry to us to give us the edge over our competitors. He ensures the safety of SHMH having previously worked in the Pharmaceutical, Education, and Regulatory bodies as a Clinical Research Assistant and a Quality Control Analyst. Chidera is an expert in analysing commercial samples using thermal analytical methods. He learned these skills when he worked as a Laboratory Demonstrator Research Assistant at the University of Lincoln. As a result of his vast experience and knowledge that he over sees all formulations and their processes.
