Description
Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (MAP) is specifically produced for use as a stabilised source of Vitamin C in cosmetic products.
INCI: Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate
MAP is light-stable and oxygen-stable.
Purity >95.0%.
Appearance : White or pale yellow powder or granule
Solublility: in water, slightly soluble in ethanol. Insoluble in mineral oil and IPP), may discolour at pH levels below 6.
Benefits:
– Stabilised form of Vitamin C that does not degrade in aqueous formulas. Esterification of Asorbic Acid protects Vitamin C from oxidative degradation.
-It appears to have same potential to boost skin collagen synthesis as Ascorbic Acid but is effective in significantly lower concentrations.
-Potent antioxidant (shown to be able to protect skin from oxidative damages)
– It is also a free radical scavenger and once absorbed into skin it can remove signs of wrinkles and aging.
– It exhibits a strong tyrosinase inhibiting activity in preventing melanin formation
– Recent studies found it can promote hair growth especially in combination with MSM.
-For those with sensitive skin or those wanting to avoid the exfoliating effects of highly acidic Ascorbic Acid, MAP may be the preferred choice.
Usual concentration 0.2-3% up to 10%
Formulation guidelines:
- Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (MAP) may discolor in formulations with a pH below 6, so is best used in products with a final formulation pH between 6.0 – 7.0.
- MAP is stable at 80C/176F for up to 20 hours; this means that it should withstand heating to this temperature for short periods in formulations without a problem. Therefore, it can be added to the water phase prior to heating.
- You can also predisperse it in a small amount of distilled water and add at the end of the formulation process.
- If you’re having trouble dissolving MAP in water, warming the solution to about 40°C (104°F) will help.

Standard Delivery on items ordered before 11am Monday-Friday for £4.95.

INCORRECT ITEMS SENT OR FAULTY:
If you have received either a faulty or incorrect item, please email us at contact@skinandhairmanufacturinghub.com to make us aware of the issue within 24 hours of receipt of your products, in your email be sure to include your order number, photo evidence, a small description of the issue and any other relevant information such as batch codes. Customers may return any incorrect item/s within 7 days and receive a full refund of the cost of those goods including return shipping cost with proof of postage is supplied, provided they remain in merchantable condition and are unopened in original packaging with tamper seal intact.
